Specialist, Employment na Easterseals PORT Health

Do you believe meaningful work can change a person’s life? At Easterseals UCP, our ACT team is looking for a compassionate and motivated Employment Specialist who shares that belief. In this role, you’ll walk alongside individuals living with severe and persistent mental illness as they prepare for, find, and thrive in competitive employment.

You’ll be trained in the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model, which means you’ll be using proven, person-centered strategies to help people discover their strengths, build confidence, and take real steps toward independence. Every day, you’ll see the impact of your work—whether it’s coaching someone through a new job, building partnerships with local businesses, or celebrating the first paycheck of someone who never thought employment was possible.

What You’ll Do

• Inspire and encourage individuals to explore education and employment opportunities.

• Partner with local businesses to create job matches and meaningful placements.

• Provide job coaching, workplace support, and benefits counseling to set clients up for long-term success.

• Collaborate daily with a multidisciplinary ACT team to deliver holistic, wraparound care.

• Advocate for client goals, empower families, and ensure each person’s preferences are respected.

What We’re Looking For

• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a human services field plus the required MH/DD/SA experience (per service definition).

• Skills: Relationship builder, motivator, and problem-solver who believes in recovery and the dignity of work.

• Requirements: Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and comfort working in the community (homes, job sites, schools, shelters, and more).
