Following an evolution in the structure of the Communications and Marketing team in EMEA, there is a need for a dedicated External Communications Co-Ordinator, to support the EMEA Head of Communications in raising the profile and managing the reputation of the organisation externally.
The External Communications Co-Ordinator for the EMEA region will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing Chubb’s external communications strategy. This position will focus on enhancing Chubb’s reputation, building brand awareness (in line with global policies), and ensuring consistent messaging across the region. The role requires someone who can support the Head of Communications to manage media relations, develop compelling content, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver impactful external communications initiatives.
The role is based in London and reports to the Head of Communications, EMEA, and is part of a wider Marketing and Communications team supporting 26 countries across the EMEA region.
We serve SME, middle market, and large corporate business providing property, casualty as well as accident and health insurance, and risk engineering and multinational servicing propositions. We also serve high net worth individuals providing motor, home and valuables insurance. We are an intermediated business working closely with our broker partners helping them grow their business.
- Manage the ongoing relationship and renewal process for key media monitoring licences and subscriptions, e.g. NLA, CLA.
- Manage and maintain our journalist database to ensure accurate and timely sharing of press releases.
- Work with the global and EMEA content teams, to research and identify newsworthy topics for thought leadership articles, in collaboration with the Head of Communications and key business stakeholders.
- Write news releases, statements and other content required (as required) and ensure all content aligns with Chubb’s brand voice, values, and strategic priorities Ensure consistent application of Chubb’s brand guidelines across all external communications.
- Promote Chubb’s corporate values and commitment to excellence in all external-facing material
- Work with digital marketing team to manage content in the news and corporate sections of Chubb.com for the EMEA region.
- Maintain good awareness of competitor activity and issues that could impact our business using media monitoring platforms e.g. Meltwater, Cision
- Monitor and deliver regular reporting of Chubb media coverage. This includes compiling and distributing daily news alerts to key stakeholders.
- Ensure all communications are managed within the legal and regulatory guidelines and the internal approval framework
- Act as first contact for all speaker requests that come into the region. Oversee the speaker approvals process in collaboration with the Head of Communications, EMEA.
- Contribute to the management and maintenance of EMEA’s subject matter expert list
- Ensure collaboration and alignment with colleagues in other regions and in the global team on all aspects of PR and External Communications activity
- Support in the creation of awards nominations, as required.
- Support the Head of Communications in managing crisis communications and reputational risk as required
- Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, underwriting, and claims, to ensure alignment of messaging and objectives
Qualifications

You have
- Experience of working in the insurance or financial service industry preferably
- Previous experience in writing press releases and statements
- Experience in media monitoring and report production
- Excellent copywriting and proof-reading skills
- Experience of using media and content data bases e.g. Factiva, Meltwater, Statista, PR Newswire
- Experience of using Adobe, Google Analytics, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams,
- Educated at degree level business, marketing, journalism, public relations or related field
- Fluent English and any other European languages a plus
