Position Summary:
Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is seeking applications for an adjunct instructor position in the Department of Allied Health Sciences to teach Clinical Chemistry lecture (3 credits) and Clinical Chemistry laboratory (1 credit/3 contact hours) courses in support of the college’s BS and MS Clinical Laboratory Sciences programs. Candidates will work closely with the Clinical Laboratory Sciences Program Director to continuously improve the quality of instruction, assist with course planning, and support program accreditation. Qualified applicants should have a minimum of a master’s degree in clinical laboratory sciences or a relevant discipline. Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist MLS(ASCP), or an ASCP specialist certification or equivalent, is preferred.
The courses will be offered in-person and on-campus. The Spring 2026 semester begins on January 12, 2026 and ends May 6, 2026.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plans, organizes, and delivers instruction in didactic and laboratory settings to promote student success and alignment with NAACLS curriculum guidelines.
- Provide students with frequent, timely assessment and clear feedback regarding their academic performance.
- Maintains office hours, in-person or virtual, proportionate to the instructional assignment.
- Collaborate with Program Director, peers, and Department Chair to evaluate, revise, and develop curriculum as needed.

Education and Experience:
- Minimum of a master’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, or a relevant discipline.
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist MLS(ASCP), or an ASCP specialist certification or equivalent, is preferred.
- Minimum of one year of clinical laboratory experience.
- Relevant teaching experience within a college setting and/or experience guiding students during their clinical rotations at a laboratory site.
- Experience with online/distance learning is preferred.
