About the Department
Partners with deputies to provide the community with initial on-scene de-escalation, assessment, and clinical intervention, refers secondary linkage to supports and resources for individuals experiencing a mental health or substance abuse-related crisis, provides outreach, referrals, and follow-up with community members affected by behavioral health issues.

Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid driver’s license. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in Mental Health Treatment or Human Services is required. LPC or LCSW from an approved agency or program is required. One of the following three (3) education qualifications is required:
- Master’s Degree in Counseling from a Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP) approved program or equivalent -OR-
- Master’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology or related field with a Doctorate Degree from a CACREP approved program or equivalent -OR-
- Master’s Degree in Social Work from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) approved program or equivalent.
*The substitution of any combination of relevant and related education, training, and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and ability may be considered.
The selection process includes, but is not limited to, an interview. Prior to employment, candidates will complete a background investigation, polygraph examination, and physical examination to include a drug screen. The expected duration of the selection process will not normally exceed two months. Candidates not selected may reapply in the future. This posting may be used to fill multiple openings.
