Summary  

Assist with the preparation of financial filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and other regulatory agencies as necessary. Assist with the planning, coordination, preparation and filing of financial reports, while maintaining appropriate supporting documentation and ensuring timeliness and accuracy. Supervise and assist in the preparation of consolidation entries and eliminations as well as supervising the preparation of information provided by others to support SEC filings. Ensure accuracy of subsidiary financial results through review of monthly results.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assist with the preparation and filing of quarterly and year-end external financial reports with the SEC, including business section, risk factors, forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K and other SEC filings as necessary.

Complete footnotes, MD&A and financial statement disclosures, ensuring that all disclosures are properly supported and have been reviewed in accordance with the company policies, including compliance with SOX.

Project lead and/or Team lead those individuals who are providing information to support the SEC filings to ensure they understand the data being requested, have adequate processes to obtain the data and that adequate review procedures are in place. Prepare reconciliations, roll forward schedules and journal entries for financial statement related accounts including leases, debt, and equity.

Assist with the preparation of the stock-based compensation and earnings per share.

Coordinate within the Finance and Accounting team and with external auditors regarding required financial reporting related deliverables.

Assist FP&A in ensuring that results are reasonable and fluctuations are researched and explained in the MD&A.

Assist in the preparation of the consolidation including the elimination entries.

Assist subsidiary accounting groups through review of financial statements and proper/consistent accounting with the corporate team. Ensure appropriate mapping of G/L accounts to the group consolidation.

Assist and be a resource for subsidiary accounting groups for the implementation and continued monitoring of their control environment and compliance with SOX.

Assist with process improvements, included but not limited to the consolidation process, mapping of intercompany accounts, stock based compensation, and SEC reporting.

Provide support for consolidations/foreign currency translation and reporting.

Provide support to the corporate and operational teams in ensuring that significant transactions are properly disclosed.

Assist the Director of SEC Reporting with reviewing and documenting major corporate events, including significant contracts, mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity offerings, stock based compensation and assess their accounting impact for Form 8-K and other required SEC disclosures.

Assist in the reporting of the implementation of new GAAP and SEC standards.

Assist with the research and documentation of technical accounting memos.

Assist with the monitoring of formal processes to ensure that appropriate evidential support is maintained to support all disclosures in the Company's SEC filings and documenting as appropriate.

Contribute to the preparation of analyst presentations, ensuring they are consistent with SEC filings.

Provide support in the preparation of the quarterly earnings releases and related materials.

Participate in external reporting systems implementations, including automation efforts.

Actively contribute to the development of global accounting policies to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Actively participate in year-end audits and quarterly reviews, including preparation of audit support schedules and related requests. 

Assist the Director, SEC Reporting in the administration of the Company’s stock plan

Education and/or Experience            

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, plus a minimum of 4 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

Mathematical Skills             

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

Reasoning Ability                                                   

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to independently determine tax compliance requirements with no supervision.

 

Computer Skills       

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.  Microsoft Dynamics AX experience preferred.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Certified Public Accountant preferred.
