Overview

The Website Merchandiser plays a pivotal role in creating a consumer-first experience to drive sales and engagement through exciting product display, optimized product listings, effective cross-selling, and upselling techniques. This includes maintaining accurate and compelling product listings, managing the product catalog, and ensuring products are easy to find, navigate and available to convert to sales.

The Website Merchandiser also partners with cross-functional teams in the organization to facilitate product launches and campaigning, including gathering content for products from the marketing communications (marcom) team. Additionally, the role involves creating and maintaining price books, tracking gross margin and checking stock levels to ensure accurate and up-to-date product availability information.

Responsibilities

  • Product Listing and Optimization: Manage and optimize product listings on e-commerce platforms. This includes coordinating with internal teams to develop compelling product descriptions, masonry, and ensuring high-quality images and videos are used to optimize conversion rate.
  • Cross-Selling and Upselling: Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling by analyzing customer behavior and purchase history through analytics. Implement product bundling strategies and recommend related products manually or using platform AI tools.
  • Promotional Campaigns: Plan and execute promotional campaigns, including discounts, special offers, and seasonal sales events. Collaborate with the e-commerce campaign manager to plan and execute campaigns, including stock levels and ensuring alignment with broader marketing initiatives.
  • User Experience (UX) Optimization: Collaborate with the UX/UI team to ensure an optimal shopping experience. Suggest improvements to site navigation, product categorization, and search functionality.
  • Performance Analytics: Monitor and analyze sales performance, traffic, conversion rates, and other key metrics. Use analytics tools to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Compensation Range: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year contingent upon experience. 

Qualifications

A successful E-Commerce Product Merchandising Strategist combines analytical skills, creativity, and a deep understanding of consumer behavior to optimize online merchandising and drive sales. Below are the essential qualifications, skills, and attributes required for success in this role.

  • Degree is Marketing/ Merchandising or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ Years of experience in ecommerce or a similar role.
  • Site Merchandising: Strong understanding of product categorization, bundling, and promotions.
  • Customer-Centric Approach: Thinks like the shopper to improve product discovery and engagement.
  • Detail-Oriented & Organized: Manages multiple SKUs, promotions, and campaigns effectively.
  • Strong Communication & Collaboration: Works cross-functionally with marketing, UX, and inventory teams.
  • Passion for E-Commerce & Innovation: Stays ahead of trends in AI-driven merchandising and personalization.
