Authorization Coordinator | General Surgery na Memorial Hospital

We are looking for an Authorization Coordinator to join our General Surgery Team!  

• Responsible for obtaining timely and accurate prior authorization or precertification from insurance companies to ensure payment for service provided for various specialties.
• Updates communication within patient medical records in a timely fashion to ensure organization is aware of status of approval.
• Schedules patient appointments, including surgery, procedures, office visits; verifies insurance coverage, patient demographics and eligibility. Develops and maintains appropriate tracking system to ensure authorization is received in a timely fashion, prior to a surgery or a procedure.
• Notifies Practice Manager and/or Provider of delays, denials, and/or other timeliness concerns for authorizations.

What You’ll Bring: 

• Experience:

  High school diploma or equivalent; one year experience in a medical office desired; demonstrate ability to operate standard office equipment including the computers and computer software programs, fax machines, copiers, printers, and telephones; ability to provide customer service in a warm and friendly manner.
