Description
John Marshall Bank is hiring a Branch Operations Support Specialist to use their integral knowledge of the Bank’s operations, core operating system, policies and procedures to be a resource for our banking centers to monitor and review employee and customer activity to ensure compliance of regulatory requirements and to mitigate risk.
In this role you will:
- Review all designated depository new accounts and/or maintenance reports daily to confirm that the activity was properly authorized; and that the account holder has properly executed the required file documentation and uploaded it into the Image Center.
- Maintain within the department appropriate paper/electronic file documentation and/or work papers that demonstrate that the review process required by job responsibility listed above as performed. All file documentation and/or work papers must be signed off by your supervisor or designated department manager and be available for periodic review by outside auditors or regulators.
- Review and send the Deposit Exception Report daily to confirm that any missing file documentation has been properly entered in the Deposit Exception Report as procedure states.
- Review all original Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA) customer documentation files, to include original applications, contribution forms, distribution forms, change of beneficiary forms, etc. Confirm that all original documentation has been uploaded to the Image Center.
- Review all contributions, distributions and close out transactions on IRA accounts in Horizon to verify that the appropriate IRS reporting codes have been used in processing the transaction.
- Review for accuracy and completeness; and maintain all Depository Rate Variance Forms received by Branch Operations.
- Review Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) documentation in BAM daily. The review should include making sure that the documentation is complete and filed.
- Review and maintain file documentation for all DEBIT/ATM increase forms. The review includes verifying that the document was complete, signed by the customer and approved by the appropriate internal authority.
- Support for banking centers, with a full knowledge of all operations affecting customers, new accounts openings, teller transactions, and approvals.
- Troubleshoots teller and CSR system issues towards a timely resolution to include case submissions and management.
- Knowledgeable of all bank products and services and has ability to discuss details and answer questions with help of Manager as needed, whether in person, by phone or through the Branch Operations Support email.
- Assist with reviewing teller cash reconcilement general ledgers and having them approved.
- Creates procedures, job aids, and forms in collaboration with bank’s various departments approved by Manager.
- Assists in training (zoom, in-person, etc.) on branch procedures and processes, including new accounts and teller, as well as products and services.
- Travel to branches as needed for audits and trainings.
Requirements
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3-5 years of experience in a retail branch banking or branch operations department environment
- experience and understanding of a bank’s traditional operational policies and procedures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite / Outlook365
- Able to demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred:
- Associate’s degree
- Must be detail oriented and be able to multi-task.
- Self-motivated with ability to work consistently and productively under minimal supervision.
- Ability to effectively prioritize various tasks, projects and overall workload.
- Self-motivated with strong time management skills and ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Maintain excellent rapport with team members of all departments and branch locations.
