About You

Four Research positions available under the Australian Economic Accelerator Innovate Smart Wind Turbine Blades project:

  • Senior Research Fellow (Level C), Senior Wind Turbine Blade Dynamics Engineer

  • Research Fellow (Level B), Wind Turbine Blade Dynamics Engineer

  • Research Fellow (Level B), Power Electronics Systems Engineer

  • Research Fellow (Level B), Smart Control Systems Engineer

Join a future-focused research initiative developing the next generation of smart wind turbine blades. As part of the Australian Economic Accelerator Innovate project, this role will see you contribute to the design, analysis, optimisation, control, and full-scale testing of advanced wind turbine systems.

Depending on your expertise, you will play a key role in either blade design, structural dynamics, electrical systems, or intelligent control systems. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to advance renewable energy technology through cutting-edge simulation, experimental validation, and system integration.

We are seeking candidates with strong technical capabilities in their field, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for innovation in clean energy technologies. This is a rare opportunity to conduct high-impact research that directly contributes to Australia’s energy future.

We are looking for candidates with their knowledge and experience in the key focus areas:

1. Mechanical/Blade Design Focus:

  • Support efforts in the aerodynamic and structural design of advanced turbine blades, including fatigue and aeroelastic performance under variable operating conditions.

2. Electrical Engineering Focus:

  • You will develop and integrate electrical systems for turbine testing, focusing on inverter control, rotating machines, and energy storage/load management systems.

3. Control Systems Focus:

  • You will design and implement advanced control strategies for wind turbine operation, contributing expertise in embedded systems, mechatronics, and intelligent systems engineering.
