Position Duties

The Loudoun County Health Department is seeking a dedicated, customer-focused Medical Receptionist II. Under general supervision, the Medical Receptionist II performs a variety of administrative duties, provides excellent customer service, and conducts financial assessments. This includes verifying insurance benefits, managing financial eligibility, collecting fees, and handling tasks of greater complexity.
Primary Responsibilities but are not limited to:
Respond to patient inquiries and direct calls with professionalism and courtesy. Register new patients and update existing patient information accurately. Schedule and confirm patient appointments, follow-ups, and procedures. Verify health insurance coverage and ensure accurate data entry. Assist patients with eligibility forms and paperwork. Maintain organized medical charts and filing systems. Manage office supplies to ensure smooth operations. Ensure compliance with medical laws, regulations, and HIPAA guidelines. Safeguard patient confidentiality and sensitive information. Provide team support as needed. Perform additional duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have strong administrative skills, a customer-focused mindset, and at least three years of experience in a medical or health services setting. Experience in insurance verification, medical billing, and HIPAA regulations is preferred. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a plus. Minimum Qualifications
medical office or health and human services setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred:
Bilingual (English and Spanish) candidates strongly encouraged to apply. Knowledge of basic medical terminology, insurance benefits, and medical billing protocols. Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records system.
Other Qualifications
Pass background checks including criminal and DMV (may include fingerprint and credit check). Pass TB test. Must maintain current CPR/First Aid/AED and OSHA certifications. Must successfully complete mandatory training, to include HIPAA and Human Rights.
