Salary: $140,000 - $160,000/year


Work Location: This position will be primarily remote, with the possibility of on-site work requirements up to and including eventual return-to-office.


The Lead ISSO serves as the senior security advisor overseeing all Information System Security Officer (ISSO) activities across client systems. This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of the cybersecurity program, maintaining visibility of all system authorizations, lifecycles, and risk management efforts.


Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Maintain a portfolio of all client systems, including lifecycle stage, authorization status, and associated risk posture.
  • Provide leadership and coordination of ISSO resources, ensuring consistency across systems.
  • Track and report on risk management and compliance activities to the ISSM, AO, and system owners.
  • Maintain version control of documentation and prepare executive-level briefings and reports.
  • Oversee alignment with NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, and client cybersecurity directives.
  • Act as senior liaison between ISSOs and Government stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in information assurance or cybersecurity, with leadership responsibility.
  • Strong understanding of NIST RMF, FISMA, and federal IT security policies.
  • Experience managing complex portfolios of FISMA-reportable systems.
  • Ability to translate technical risks into executive-level communications.

Clearance Requirement: Active Secret clearance required.



The salary range for this position depends upon multiple factors including location, the individual's knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, and contract-specific budget constraints and organizational requirements.
