Overview of Opportunity
Two Six Technologies is seeking a Senior Software Developer to design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions for mission-critical applications. You will lead development efforts, provide technical guidance, and collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to deliver reliable, value-driven software increments. This role requires advanced technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a strong understanding of Agile principles.
This is a hybrid position requiring on-site support one day per week at our Northern Virginia customer site.
What You Will Do:
- Design, develop, and maintain software applications, modules, and components using appropriate programming languages and frameworks, adhering to coding standards and best practices.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews) to prioritize tasks, estimate effort, and report progress.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers, guiding software design, coding techniques, and best practices.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to architectural guidelines. Implement automated testing and continuous integration practices to ensure software reliability.
- Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and stakeholders to analyze requirements, translate them into technical designs, and provide input on feasibility and implementation approaches.
- Identify and address technical challenges, troubleshoot complex problems, and propose innovative solutions throughout the development lifecycle.
- Optimize software performance and scalability to enhance efficiency and responsiveness.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in software development, conducting research and experimentation to improve development processes and drive innovation.
What You Will Need (Basic Qualifications):
- Minimum 8 years of professional software development experience, with significant experience designing and building complex software solutions.
- At least 3 years of experience working in Agile environments, including leadership or collaboration within Agile teams.
- Experience leading collaborative Python development projects.
- Proficiency in one or more scripting languages (e.g., Go, Bash, JavaScript).
- Experience developing in Linux-based operating systems (Ubuntu, RedHat, Debian).
- Experience with UI/UX development technologies, especially JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue).
- Working knowledge of database query languages and mobile database design (e.g., SQLite).
- Experience with issue tracking software (e.g., Jira) and version control (git).
- Experience leading code reviews.
- Experience with iOS and Android mobile development languages (Java, Objective-C, Swift).
- Relevant Agile certifications such as Certified Scrum Developer (CSD) or Professional Scrum Developer (PSD).
- Active Top Secret clearance with polygraph preferred.
Security Clearance:
- Active Top Secret clearance with willingness and ability to obtain a polygraph is required.
