We are seeking a motivated and curious Procurement Intern to join our team. This internship is designed as a learning experience that provides exposure to procurement processes, supplier management, and contract administration while offering opportunities to develop analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. Interns will gain insight into how procurement evolves from tactical purchasing to strategic value creation, with hands-on involvement in sourcing, supplier communications, and process improvement projects. Guided by experienced mentors, the intern will learn how procurement contributes to cost efficiency, operational excellence, and strategic business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in sourcing suppliers, evaluating vendor proposals, and supporting category strategy research.
- Support the preparation, review, and processing of purchase orders, contracts, and supplier onboarding.
- Maintain and update supplier databases, procurement records, and process documentation.
- Conduct market research to analyze pricing trends, supplier capabilities, and industry benchmarks.
- Track order status, monitor deliveries, and help resolve fulfillment issues.
- Compile supplier performance data and support cost/benefit analysis for negotiations.
- Assist in spend analysis, KPI tracking, and reporting on procurement activities and savings.
- Contribute to process improvement projects, including procurement maturity roadmap tracking, workflow redesign, and technology adoption (ERP, Zip, analytics tools).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, operations, technology, legal) to address business needs.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Industrial or Systems Engineering, or related field.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with ERP systems, analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.), or SQL is a plus.
- Interest in process design, continuous improvement, operational excellence is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail with ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Eagerness to learn procurement processes and develop professional skills in a fast-paced environment.

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $35.00 - $40.00. Hourly rates will vary and will be based on various factors.
