Manager, IT Organizational Readiness and Risk

The Manager, IT Organizational Readiness & Risk, leads a small team of analysts and reports directly to the CIO. This role drives internal IT communications, training, change enablement, cybersecurity awareness, BCP/DR tabletop exercises, IT policy and procedure development, vendor management, and cross-functional coordination. The manager is responsible for overseeing IT risk management and vendor relationships, ensuring strategic alignment and operational excellence across the IT organization.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • • Bachelor’s degree (IT, Communications, Organizational Development, or related).
  • • 7+ years in IT communications/change management, cybersecurity awareness, training, or policy development.
  • • Proven track record in leading BCP/DR planning and readiness exercises.
  • • Strong written/oral communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • • Skilled in drafting technical policies and deploying them across stakeholder groups.

(Preferred)

  • Experience with agile project management.
  • Firsthand implementation experience
  • Master’s degree in computer or imaging related field

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSURE:

  • CISM, CISSP, CISA, ITIL and other technical and security focused certifications.
  • Agile and Project Management certifications.
  • Strong team leadership and people management skills.
  • Negotiation and contract management expertise.
  • Proficiency in vendor management software and tools.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Project management and leadership skills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

Team Leadership

• Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of IT analysts focused on organizational readiness, risk management, and vendor    management.

• Assign tasks, set priorities, and conduct performance reviews for direct reports.

Organizational Readiness & Change Management

• Develop and lead change management strategies and readiness plans for major IT initiatives (e.g., Epic, Workday, M365).

• Partner across IT leadership, clinical operations, HR, and SMB teams to ensure seamless adoption.

IT Communications & Training

• Own internal IT communication channels—email campaigns, video messaging, executive briefings, service desk updates.

• Design and deliver multilingual training programs, webinars, self-paced modules, and in-person sessions.

Cybersecurity Awareness

• Work closely with Security to maintain and enhance organization-wide cybersecurity awareness programs.

• Build engaging content, track completion metrics, maintain CISSP/CISM-aligned training cadences.

Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity

• Lead tabletop exercises and scenario planning for DR and BCP initiatives across clinical and non-clinical teams.

• Collaborate with Infrastructure and Risk to update recovery plans and post-exercise reviews.

IT Policy & Procedure Management

• Draft, review, and update IT policies and standard operating procedures (e.g., Acceptable Use, DR/BCP, Change Control).

• Coordinate cross-functional policy reviews with Legal, Compliance, Security, and Clinical stakeholders.

• Provide periodic policy training and ensure ongoing staff awareness.

Vendor Management

• Manage and evaluate IT vendor relationships, including contract negotiations and renewals.

• Monitor vendor performance against established SLAs and KPIs; conduct regular reviews.

• Ensure vendor compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

• Develop and maintain vendor documentation and reports.

• Coordinate vendor onboarding and implement vendor management tools.

• Address escalated issues and complaints regarding vendor services.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Serve as a strategic liaison across IT, Clinical, Admin, HR, and Legal departments.

• Advocate for organizational readiness in project governance and steering committee meetings.

Continuous Improvement

• Gather feedback and metric data to assess readiness and adoption effectiveness.

• Stay current on best practices in change management, policy design, IT communications, and resilience planning.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Work is primarily sedentary and performed in a standard office environment.
  • Requires prolonged periods of sitting, working at a computer, and attending meetings.
  • Occasional walking, standing, and lifting of materials or equipment up to 25 pounds.
  • May require travel between facilities or to vendor sites for meetings or audits.
  • Ability to concentrate and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Pleasant environment during regular business hours; occasional adjustment of hours to meet project needs.  Sitting for long periods resulting in moderate fatigue.
