Working within our Adolescent Residential Services Program means joining a team that prioritizes clinical growth, work-life balance, and real impact in the community. BCBAs have the opportunity to work with clients through individual, group, and family therapy, while also collaborating as part of an interdisciplinary team that includes Prescribers, Case Managers, and Direct Support.

Salary: Starting $90000 / annually - depending upon education / experience / licensure

 

Job Summary

 

In conjunction with the remainder of each child’s treatment team, the Behaviorist plans and provides behavior management programs for youth enrolled in Residential Developmental Disability programs in Monmouth County. Consumers will range in age from 6-18. Will provide related services to administrators, staff, parents, and the community as appropriate. Actively participates in the development and implementation of policies relative to the management of problematic behaviors. Responsible for identifying target behaviors, conducting the Functional Behavioral Assessments as well as behavior plan development. Will be responsible for obtaining all approvals and consents for the behavior plan, monitor all plans, supervise all documentation and be responsible for all training of staff involving in behavior plans.

Responsibilities:
  •  Demonstrates a strong foundation in Applied Behavior Analysis
  • Construct a Functional Behavior Assessment of youth admitted
  • Designs and implements behavior interventions
  • Understands the behavioral characteristics typically associated with Autism, Behavioral Disorders and Intellectual Disabilities, etc.
  • Ability to communicate (written and verbal) effectively with parents and professionals
  • Works collaboratively with other professional disciplines on the child’s multi-disciplinary team.
  • Understands Special Education regulations including the Least Restrictive Behavior Intervention policy
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to handle emotionally charged situations
  • Ability to train others to apply effective behavior management techniques
  • Responds to crisis situations when appropriate.
  • Designs systematic procedures that result in lasting positive changes in individual behaviors.
  • Develops and implements appropriate behavior intervention and behavior support plans in a consistent manner appropriate to the individuals’ life settings.
  • Implements and/or supervises employees who implement behavioral intervention plans to replace specified maladaptive behavior(s) with alternative acceptable behaviors.
  • Provides in-service training programs for staff on behavioral analysis and effective practices regarding positive behavior supports.
  • Consults with staff members and parents who are responsible for implementing the behavioral intervention plan.
  • Adheres to frequency of consultations as prescribed in the behavioral intervention plan.
  • Participates in weekly team meetings, as well as monthly treatment meetings for each youth.
  • Cooperate with Office of Licensing and any other Department of Children and Families staff in any inspection or investigation.
  • Continues to grow professionally through attendance of conferences, workshops, professional meetings, and college courses

 

Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in applied behavior analysis, psychology, special education, social work, or a related field. BCBA required.
  • Must have three years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities involving behavior modifications.
  • Prior experience developing, analyzing and implementing Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavioral Intervention Plans along with the data that supports the plan.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required. 
  • Employee must possess a valid driver’s license and if duties require driving, be able to drive an agency owned vehicle.
