Note: this role is hybrid with approximately 3 days per week in the office.
Everblue is seeking a skilled and experienced Proposal Writer to join our Business Development team in creating compelling and compliant proposals for energy-related projects, such as federal Home Energy Rebates, Weatherization, and Training for Residential Energy Contractors (TREC), and other areas of our business: professional licensure, software, and workforce development. This individual will join a dynamic team advancing energy efficiency and equity through utility and federal, state, and local government partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze Requests for Proposals (RFPs), grant requirements, and agency procurement guidelines.
- Research and synthesize relevant program information, win themes, and organizational strengths into clear, persuasive narratives tailored for specific opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with Everblue and other subject matter experts, program managers, project teams, and partners to gather technical content and evidence, ensuring regulatory and technical compliance.
- Draft, edit, and finalize all technical, management, and staffing sections for proposals, ensuring adherence to RFP requirements, evaluation criteria, and organizational style guides.
- Manage the proposal writing process, including timelines, internal reviews, proposal production, and timely submission of all required documents.
- Maintain and update a library of proposal templates, past performance, and reusable content for future energy-related proposals.
- Assist with grants reporting and post-submission inquiries as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, environmental studies, public policy, English, communications, or related).
- Demonstrated success writing government or federal grant proposals—ideally for energy, climate, or weatherization programs.
- Excellent writing, research, and editing skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency with HubSpot, Microsoft Office Suite, and proposal management tools.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and adapt to evolving priorities.
- Collaborative team player with strong communication and time-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least three years of experience developing funded proposals for federal or state government programs, especially in energy or sustainability sectors.
- Knowledge of federal energy market trends and programs, such as Home Energy Rebate or Weatherization Assistance programs.
- Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), grants.gov, and similar federal procurement systems.
- Experience collaborating with partners and stakeholders across multiple projects.
