Essential Functions
- Plan and make necessary purchases for preparing and serving one meal and two snacks per day to all children and staff at LNDV.
- Coordinate the food service program following the CACFP Food Service Standards.
- Cook and prepare food daily for all Posada Community Services programs and special events.
- Review the food service program with the assistant director monthly.
- Maintain inventory of current food and supplies.
- Provide assistance to teachers for food and cooking experiences they may wish to plan for the indoor and outdoor classroom.
- Participate in ongoing training programs provided by the Arizona Department of Health Services – Office of Nutrition Services and Office of Child Care Licensure – and the Pima County Health Department – Consumer Health and Food Safety.
- Successfully complete a food safety program (Pima County Food Sanitation Certificate) and/or a Certified Professional Food Manager Certification that is accredited and recognized by the State of Arizona or Pima County.
- Attend required LNDV staff meetings to present food service information to assist in the training of all LNDV staff members.
- Assist in special events and activities sponsored by LNDV (Open house, graduation, picnics, holiday feasts).
- Ensure the smooth coordination of related activities involving LNDV/CDE participants.
- Responsible for all kitchen custodial duties including dishes and maintain the facility in a hygienic and safe condition.
- Coordinate chemical inventory
- Maintain standards for state inspections.

Skills and Abilities
Education : High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
Experience: One to two years related experience preparing food, and possess knowledge of basic principles of good nutrition. Demonstrated ability to plan for economy in shopping, and in planning, preparing and serving balanced meals and snacks.
Computer Skills: Able to use word processing and enter data in spreadsheet
