The Business Development Manager for Strategic Commercial Accounts will be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing high-value commercial accounts that contribute significantly to the company’s growth. This role requires a highly strategic individual with strong sales, relationship-building, and negotiation skills. The manager will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop tailored solutions for strategic commercial clients, ensuring their needs are met and fostering long-term, profitable partnerships that result in increased market share.
Responsibilities:- Account Acquisition & Growth:
- Identify and target high-potential strategic commercial accounts across industries.
- Build and execute a pipeline strategy to secure new business with large commercial clients.
- Relationship Management:
- Develop strong, enduring relationships with key decision-makers of these strategic commercial accounts.
- Ensure all needs are addressed promptly and effectively for all existing and potential commercial clients.
- Understand clients' unique business needs and provide tailored solutions to help them achieve their goals.
- Sales Strategy Development:
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to design customized solutions that meet the specific needs of commercial clients.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to drive revenue growth from key commercial accounts.
- Monitor account progress and adjust strategies to meet client expectations and company objectives.
- Negotiations & Contract Management:
- Lead contract negotiations and ensure mutually beneficial agreements are established.
- Manage the proposal and strategy process, ensuring alignment with business objectives, sales growth and profitability.
- Ensure timely and accurate execution of contractual and non-contractual obligations.
- Client Retention & Satisfaction:
- Focus on building long-term, value-driven relationships with clients to maximize customer retention.
- Address client concerns and issues, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and delivering exceptional service.
- Implement account retention strategies to ensure clients remain satisfied and continue to use the company's products or services.
- Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis:
- Conduct thorough market research to understand trends, competitors, and customer needs.
- Use insights to identify new business opportunities and refine sales strategies.
- Provide regular feedback to the leadership team on industry trends, client behavior, and competitive landscape.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with marketing, product development, and operations teams to ensure client needs are being met.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth onboarding and delivery of services to commercial clients.
- Reporting & Performance Metrics:
- Track sales metrics, account performance, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Prepare regular reports for senior leadership on the status of strategic commercial accounts.
- Provide accurate forecasts for revenue growth and account performance.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of business development or sales experience in managing strategic accounts.
- Proven track record of success in building relationships and driving revenue with large clients.
- Experience in negotiating and managing complex contracts and deals.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to build rapport and trust with senior executives and decision-makers.
- Strong business acumen and understanding of market dynamics.
- Proficiency in CRM tools (Dynamics, Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Analytical skills to assess client needs and performance metrics.
- Familiarity with complex sales cycles and large-scale account management.
