Benelux Payroll Specialist — Job Description
Position Overview
The Benelux Payroll Specialist is a member of the GSS SBD Payroll Team and will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for the Benelux region. This role involves daily payroll operations, data entry, communication with internal teams and external payroll providers, and ensuring compliance with all relevant legal and company standards. This role will report directly to Benelux Payroll Lead.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Process payroll for employees in the Benelux region, including onboarding, offboarding, and changes in employment status.
- Enter and verify payroll data such as bonuses, overtime, car benefits, transportation allowances, and garnishments.
- Maintain and update time & attendance systems and holiday balances.
- Manage absences (medical, maternity, paternity, etc.).
- Conduct monthly payroll checks and assist with general ledger reconciliation.
- Prepare and execute payroll payments (advances, net pay, social security contributions).
- Generate and distribute payroll reports and Excel files for stakeholders.
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and managers.
- Maintain daily communication with external payroll providers.
- Liaise with government agencies and third-party vendors as necessary.
- Support annual and year-end payroll processes, including audits and ad-hoc data requests.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and update payroll processing instructions as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Solid knowledge and hands-on experience with Benelux payroll processes (Belgium payroll knowledge is a non-negotiable) - minimum 3 years of experience in payroll.
- Proficiency with SDWorx and HRBlox (required).
- Experience with ADP Globalview/Workday (a plus).
- Strong Excel skills (including vlookup and pivot tables).
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and a team player.
- Fluent in Dutch and English.
