SUMMARY:
The Barletta Lead Service Technician role requires strong product knowledge of the operation and assembly of our boats. The ability to interact confidently with our dealers and customers is a must. Strong diagnostic and documentation skills are also necessary for exceptional product support and documentation. As the Lead Service Technician, you will be responsible for serving as a point of contact for the service technician team, ensuring efficient workflow, and maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction in working closely and collaborative with service team members.
Individuals in this role must have a strong work ethic and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and team-focused environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervision: Provide leadership and direction to a team of service technicians, ensuring optimal performance, productivity, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Diagnostic Troubleshooting: Conduct thorough diagnostic assessments of pontoon boats to identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and other issues.
- Repair and Maintenance: Perform repairs and routine maintenance on pontoon boats, including engine systems, electrical components, and structural elements.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all repairs and maintenance activities adhere to the company's quality standards and specifications.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate records of all service and repair activities, including parts used, time spent, and any additional recommendations for future improvements.
- Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with customers to understand their concerns, provide updates on repair progress, and offer guidance on proper boat maintenance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the production and service teams to address complex issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Testing and Inspections: Conduct thorough testing and inspections on completed boats to verify proper functionality and identify any potential issues before delivery.
- Training and Development: Stay current with industry trends, product updates, and new technologies. Participate in training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
- Safety: Supports a Barletta Safe culture by adhering to and advocating for the safest behaviors and proactively identifies opportunities to mitigate job-related risks and hazards.
- THIS POSITION MAY BE FILLED AT EITHER A TECHNICIAN OR LEAD TECHNICIAN DEPENDING ON CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or relevant vocational training is a plus.
- Proven experience as a service technician, preferably in the marine or boating industry.
- Strong knowledge of boat systems, including engines, electrical systems, and structural components.
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs and move heavy equipment, work in tight spaces, and perform tasks in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and background screening
