Description
We are seeking a highly efficient and detail-oriented Consumer & Mortgage Loan Processor to manage the processing of consumer & mortgage loan files, with a concentration on mortgage loans, and guide clients through the application process. This role involves gathering and verifying necessary documentation, addressing discrepancies, and ensuring loan applications meet the requirements for approval. Success in this role requires excellent customer service, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
Job Responsibilities:
- Consumer loan processing - personal unsecured and collateral secured loans
- Prepares and submits timely and accurate loan files into our LaserPro loan system.
- Prepares all loan documentation necessary based on loan type being granted, including placing liens on collateral.
- Printing of payment coupon books.
- Preparation of consumer loan payoff letters.
- Mortgage loan processing - Mortgage, Home Equity, Installment Loans & HELOC’s
- Reviews new loan files submitted for processing for completeness
- Preparation of initial disclosures & commitments-reviews for accuracy
- Prepares commitment letter and communicates loan file details to the assigned attorney.
- Ordering of appraisals, stub searches and any additional reports required
- When appraisals are received, they are submitted for review. Once reviewed, the report should be emailed to the lender as well as the borrower. Note the review form the date the report is provided to the borrower.
- When stub search is received, it should be given to the paralegal for review and schedule A to be created.
- Tracking of all conditions of the final approval. Communicates with lender and borrower of what is still needed to schedule closing.
- Closing coordination: Creating necessary disclosures & coordinating other necessary items with closing attorneys
- Confirms details of closing with the borrower
- Confirms the integrity of the HMDA Data report prior to funding
- Funding of all closed loans
- Setting up ticklers
- Setting up auto pay, recurring payments or coupon books based on customer selection
- Setting up of critical alerts when necessary
- Processing of Construction Loan Draws
- Completing the requested draws after confirming the borrower approves release of funds and receives photo’s of the build progress to be held in the file.
- Construction conversions
- Tracking of construction maturities and conversion processing
- Ensure necessary documents are received and filed including Certificate of Occupancy and current insurance information. Correspondence with borrower to collect open items, as needed.
- Completes the final inspection of property
- Updating of committed loan report
- Update appraisal status
- Update any file notes
- Create funding report weekly
- HELOC processing
- Process HELOC conversions at maturity
- Process HELOC modifications if borrower looking to extend draw period
- Process HELOC draws when requested
- Loan Servicing
- Answering mortgage servicing calls
- Addressing customer payment questions and disputes
- Preparing and processing Mortgage payoff letters and payoffs
- Process loan payments and payment corrections
- May be asked to attend educational workshops, conferences, seminars, etc.
- All other Duties as Assigned
Qualifications:

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn other software as needed
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma
- Minimum of 3 years banking experience
- Minimum of 2 years mortgage loan processing experience required
- Experience processing mortgages in the secondary market preferred, but not required
- MLO required (may be obtained soon after date of hire)
- Notary (may be obtained soon after date of hire)
Starting Rate: $24 – 28 per hour, commensurate with experience
