WORK OPTION: Remote 

 

This is a temporary position with an expected duration not to exceed (10) months. 

 

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for publishing and programming live content within the NBA’s digital channels, including the NBA App (mobile & connected devices), NBA.com, and more. You must be a passionate fan of the NBA, have experience with live production environments and/or digital streaming platforms. This position is focused on work that is primarily nights and weekends. 

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Programming live content for all NBA digital platforms (press conferences, live talent studio/remote shows, pregame/postgame shows, non-NBA basketball games, and more)
  • Overseeing 24/7 live streaming channels within NBA digital platforms and monitor streaming channels during shift for quality control
  • Promotional support for all NBA digital live streaming (including branded/sponsored content)
  • Understanding of live sports broadcasting on the national and RSN level, including NBA media partners (Amazon, ESPN, NBC, etc) and NBA League Pass/NBA TV.
  • Curating trending social, news and media content around the NBA quickly, and producing compelling thematic content for live streaming content
  • Communicating with team members across various assignments. Must know when to ask questions, be engaged and when to take the lead on specific responsibilities
  • Working with members of the Social & Digital Content Team to create fan-centric content that resonates across digital platforms and promotes a live content experience
  • Segmenting, building and publishing NBA App live content initiatives for all tentpole events (Emirates NBA Cup, NBA All-Star, etc.
  • Researching and introducing new content ideas and actively participating in content planning that pertains to live content.

 

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of live content production and digital live streaming workflows.
  • Experience working in live sports production or live production environments - must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Technical production knowledge within broadcasting or streaming environments
  • Knowledgeable about live content in sports media and storytelling through live media initiatives
  • Must have previous experience publishing within a Content Management System or live content platforms (Amagi, VMix, Vimeo, etc)
  • Passionate about the game of basketball and the NBA, including players, coaches, and teams. You can go beyond naming a favorite player to telling us the most important storylines to watch
  • Strong written skills are required
  • Strong communication skills are critical - especially for a remote position. You must be able to communicate with the rest of the team, other members of the department, and third-party partners on a nightly basis
  • Knowledge of basketball analytics and the rules of the game is preferred.
  • Willingness to work on projects when asked and provide creative content solutions when called upon
  • Understanding of digital and social media trends - know how people are consuming content and how that could apply to an NBA platform

 

Education: 

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Live Production, Broadcast Journalism or related field preferred. 

 

Salary Range: $2,307.70/biweekly
