Peoria’s Police Department has an excellent opportunity for a Management Analyst that will perform independent research and studies to make recommendations and coordinate the budget and fiscal activities of the department, including developing systems and procedures to increase efficiency and lower costs. In addition to being a self-starter utilizing independent judgment, here are a few more of the job requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in any field or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years of related experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Proficiency in Telestaff is preferred.
- Experience in a municipal or government setting is preferred.

The ideal candidate for this position will have a solid background in professional-level administrative support. Some department specific duties are as follows (does not identify all duties performed):
- Monitor grant expenditures, research grant opportunities, prepare new grant applications and manage awarded contracts.
- Monitor, audit and summarize payroll data for the department’s 375 employees.
- Program, troubleshoot and maintain the department’s scheduling system, Telestaff.
- Coordinate extra duty work assignments of Police Officers for City paid events.
- Compile and review department performance measures and statistical data.
- Coordinate and prepare fiscal activities and department budgets. Conduct budget analysis and prepare complex reports detailing fiscal activity.
- Collect and analyze data to find areas of opportunities to streamline processes and procedures, improve services, reduce expenses and increase efficiencies.
