- Ensures the safe and efficient operation of equipment like loaders, haul trucks, and crushers (if applicable) following established protocols.
- Oversees blasting activities (if applicable) following established procedures and ensuring proper safety protocols are in place.
- Achieves production quotas for blasted and processed rock but may require guidance from a supervisor for complex production adjustments.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
Crew Leadership and Development (Developing Skills)
- Provides direct supervision to a crew of laborers, assigning tasks and ensuring they understand procedures.
- Trains new crew members on operational tasks, safety protocols, and equipment usage (with some guidance from supervisor).
- Conducts performance evaluations and provides feedback to improve individual and crew performance but may seek advice from supervisor for addressing complex performance issues.
- Maintains a positive and collaborative work environment, fostering teamwork and open communication.
Quality Control (Independent but Reports Issues)
- Ensures blasted and processed rock meets size and specification requirements as per customer needs.
- Conducts independent quality checks and identifies potential quality issues.
