Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Support the long-term objectives of Kalsec Southwest and Kalsec® with regards to expansion in the growing area and various processing facilities in the southwest for chilies, paprika and other herbs, and spices as well as development of additional product processing at the Texas operation.
- Ensure adherence to policies and procedures, especially in the areas of food safety, codes of conduct, sanitation, and personal safety rules and take corrective action when necessary.
- Manage the people responsible for KSW Manufacturing and maintenance operations including the scheduling of manpower, materials, and equipment.
- Coach and mentor personnel development on communication, problem solving and fully utilizing employee talent through a direct reporting relationship. Implement systems, best manufacturing practices, and train staff on the appropriate related tools.
- Facilitate communication and teamwork between the operating functions including Maintenance, Production, Laboratory and Administrative areas. Extend this to the appropriate functions in other parts of Kalamazoo Holdings as appropriate.
- Coordinate weekly staff meetings inclusive of Production, Maintenance, QC, HR, and Accounting.
- Delegate to the appropriate parts of the KSW organization the development and implementation of operational, safety, and sanitation procedures for all manufactured goods with the objective of providing quality products that meet all customer and regulatory requirements.
- To be familiar with KSW and Kalsec corporate policies, including the company’s QA policy and objectives, and to perform all duties in a manner consistent with these policies and objectives.
- Accurately gather, record, and maintain all accounting information.
- Maintain an automated accounting system to track payroll, payables, receivables, sales, standard costing, manufacturing, and purchasing variances and product inventories, and to establish procedures for reporting on them.
- Provide Balance Sheet, P & L, Statement of Cash Flows, Cash Flow Projections, Analysis of Sales and Variance Information, and other reports as requested by KSW and Kalsec management.
- Accurately maintain all payroll and tax records, ensuring timely submission of all reports and payments. Ensure adherence to all applicable government guidelines and regulations.
- Perform all check writing functions, to include accounts payable and payroll, ensuring timely payment of all invoices and statements.
- Along with the management team of KSW, prepare and track annual operating budgets and capital project plans and expenditures.
- Participate in the monthly Directors Update meetings providing divisional information as needed. Communicate meeting highlights to KSW Senior Staff.
- Make decisions concerning General Administrative issues for the location, including making sure that Database input is maintained on a current basis.
- To be familiar with Kalsec Southwest and Kalsec corporate policies and to assist in the implementation of those policies as required.
Education/Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, Accounting, Finance or Supply Chain Management with 5 years managerial experience or equivalent.
- High learning index and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong numerical ability, computer skills and reasoning ability
- Excellent Written and Verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, assertive, outgoing, decisive, independent, and high energy
- Prior supervisory/management experience
- Excellent people skills and ability to motivate a diverse workforce.
Desired:
- Master’s degree in business, Finance or Supply Chain Management
- Experience working in an agricultural processing operation.
