                     POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

 

TITLE:          ASSISTANT TO THE CHIEF OF BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS

                    GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP CAMPUS

                                 

                                

 

Deadline:  This position will be filled in no less than ten (10) days after the date of this posting.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:      1.   Experience in a building maintenance supervisory capacity.

 

                                 2.   Knowledge of applicable environmental, health and safety

                                       regulations.

                            

                                 3.   Possess valid New Jersey driver's license.

 

                                 4.   Successfully undergo a criminal history check and proof of U.S.

                                       citizenship or legal resident alien status.

 

                                 5.   Meets the health qualifications required of all personnel.

 

                                 6.   Meets NJ residency requirements or willingness to relocate

                                       to NJ within 365 days of employment.

 

                                 7.   Must follow the guidelines of the Camden County Technical 

                                       Schools' Nepotism Policy, File Code: 0142.1.

 

Salary based on experience according to the Board of Education of the Camden County Technical Schools - $62,000 to $75,000.  This is a full-time, 12-month position.

Interviews are at the discretion of the superintendent and/or designee and based on qualifications for the position.

POSITION GOALS:   To provide all students with a physical learning environment that is

                              safe, clean, attractive and functioning through maintenance and

                              custodial and boiler personnel supervision.

 

REPORTS TO:          Supervisor assigned per the CCTS' Organizational Chart.

 

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

    1.  Examine school buildings on a regular basis for needed repairs and maintenance.

 

    2.  Assist in establishing priorities for repair projects.

 

    3.  Assist in assigning and supervising maintenance work.

 

    4.  Assist in scheduling, inspecting and supervising maintenance work.

  
    5.  Prepare reports on cost of work completed, materials used and labor expended and

         other reports as needed and/or requested.

 

    6.  Assist in ordering materials and make recommendation for supply and equipment purchases.

 

    7.  Asign and perofrma work orders; keep an accurate record.

 

    8.  Assist in consultations with principals regarding the preventive maintenance program.

 

    9.  Assist the Chief of Buildings and Grounds in the performance of his/her responsibilities. 

 

  10.  Inventory and label school equipment.

 

  11.  Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor per the CCTS’s Organizational Chart.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:   

 

                     Requires climbing ladder, roof access ladders, operating power tools, hand tools,

                     doing maintenance work, drive forklift, pickup, and stake body and any other

                     equipment as needed.
