GENERAL PURPOSE
Under the direction of the Director of Talent Development, the Coordinator of Talent Development plans, develops, coordinates, facilitates, and monitors professional growth initiatives for all employees of Stafford County Public Schools (“Stafford Schools”). This role collaborates with and advises division stakeholders on the design and delivery of staff development programs, establishes clear learning objectives, evaluates the impact of professional learning, and supports projects across the Office of Human Resources and Talent Development (“HRTD”) to advance the goals of the Stafford Schools Strategic Plan.
FOCUS AREA-WELLNESS AND GROWTH
Under the direction of the Director of Talent Development, the Coordinator of Service and Wellness is responsible for advancing the professional growth, performance, and overall well-being of service staff while promoting wellness initiatives for all employees of the school division. This position works collaboratively with supervisors, department leaders, and community partners to ensure service staff receive targeted development opportunities and that all employees have access to resources and programs that support their physical, mental, and emotional health.
MAIN JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads a comprehensive wellness and service staff support program
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate professional learning for service staff (including custodial, food service, transportation, maintenance, and clerical teams) that enhances job-specific skills, customer service, and operational excellence.
- Develop and implement onboarding programs and training resources for newly hired service staff to ensure successful integration into the division.
- Collaborate with supervisors and department leaders to identify skill gaps, provide coaching and mentoring, and support continuous improvement in performance.
- Monitor compliance with required training, certifications, and safety protocols for service staff.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of professional learning through observation, feedback, and performance data, making recommendations for improvement.
- Design, implement, and promote wellness programs for all employees, including initiatives that address physical, mental, financial, and social well-being.
- Coordinate division-wide wellness events such as health fairs, fitness challenges, and mindfulness activities.
- Partner with HR, benefits teams, and community organizations to connect employees with wellness resources, Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), and external supports.
- Analyze staff feedback and wellness data to determine program priorities and measure impact.
Contributes to divisionwide systemic process of professional learning
- Supports school and division improvement priorities through development of professional learning opportunities for teachers, leaders, and support staff
- Collaborates with all stakeholders to identify professional needs and coordinates professional learning opportunities.
- Assesses the impact of professional learning opportunities, including course evaluations and systems for monitoring effective implementation and needed follow-up support
- Maintains and monitors the division wide learning management system for planning, managing, delivering and tracking of professional development opportunities for all staff
- Establishes learning objectives and goals for staff development sessions and develops training outlines and timelines
- Contributes to the short term and long term planning for systemic professional learning

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Human Resources Management, Business Administration and Management, Business Marketing, Public Administration) or a bachelor’s degree and experience as a classroom educator required.
- Five (5) years of related experience in learning and development, either in the professional setting or as an educator, with increasing levels of responsibility. Additional relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of education requirements.
- Prior experience in project management required; experience with adult learning, event planning and digital communication strongly preferred.
- Professional experience in K-12 education preferred; experience in administrative roles (whether school-based or not) or other operational support roles strongly preferred.
- Hold or eligible for licensure from the relevant Virginia state licensure board as a mental health professional preferred; training and experience in mental health supports and/or employee wellness programming will be considered in lieu of this preference.

WORKING CONDITIONS and PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Work environment is inside an office and schools, with moderate noise, controlled temperatures, and infrequent to no exposure to chemicals or other negative air quality elements.
- The work is light work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force to move or lift objects.
