Your contribution

In this challenging and impactful role, you will plan, design, execute, and document tests with a strong focus on test automation. You will actively participate in test automation activities, work as an R&D project team member, and communicate within Tecan and with customers. You will troubleshoot complex issues, generate solutions, and help enhance and simplify the functional and technical aspects of our products and workflows. You will also participate in project milestone and product release reviews and contribute to Agile craftsmanship communities.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain Test Models and Automated Test Cases
• Ensure Test Models and Automated Test Cases are running and up to date
• Work as an R&D project team member on V&V tasks
• Communicate effectively with V&V and project teams
• Troubleshoot and generate solutions for complex issues
• Support enhancement of functional and technical aspects of products
• Provide feedback and new ideas for improving the Test Automation tool-chain
• Help develop and test new Test Automation framework features
• Plan and coordinate test activities in software development projects
• Mentor and coach V&V Test Engineers in Test Automation
• Collaborate with Competence Group Leaders and architects to choose new technologies
• Support enhancements of processes and workflows
• Ensure compliance with processes, SOPs, directives, guidelines, and norms
• Continuously develop professional skills and support your team’s growth
• Always aim for quality improvements for yourself and your team
• Take responsibility for achieving project, group, and company objectives

Your background

• Technical or scientific education (computer, biological, life science, mechanical or software engineering)
• ISTQB Foundation Level or ISTQB Advanced Level - Test Automation
• TAF Intermediate Level
• 6–14+ years’ experience in instrument or module development, preferably in the medical device industry
• Fluent English (oral and written)
• Knowledge of applicable normative requirements (ISO, IVDD/IVDR, FDA, etc.)
• Capable of presenting technical solutions to engineering teams
• Team-oriented, flexible, curious, and willing to learn
• Target-oriented, independent, efficient, and reliable work style
• Self-dependent, open to taking responsibility, value-oriented
• Solution-oriented, very self-motivated and able to motivate others
• Proactive in reporting work progress, communicating roadblocks, proposing solutions, and identifying issues
