Job Description:
Senior Mainframe Developer
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mainframe Developer to support and maintain a large, complex, and business-critical mainframe
application for one of our workplace health and safety regulator clients.
In this role, you will provide expert-level support and maintenance for mainframe applications. Analyse and resolve complex issues,
including enhancements to ADABAS Natural and COBOL code, batch processes, and system interfaces. Collaborate within a multidisciplinary
team to deliver new business projects.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain and enhance a business-critical mainframe application.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Contribute to new development initiatives and system upgrades.
• Ensure system stability, performance, and security.
• Participate in an out-of-hours support roster as required.
• Adhere to established & detailed processes and procedures
Required Skills and Experience
Essential:
• Extensive experience with ADABAS Natural, IBM mainframes, JCL and SQL.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Must reside in Victoria, Australia.
Desirable:
• Experience with COBOL.
• Ability to recommend proactive improvements to system performance and stability.
• Familiarity with quality and security standards in software development.
• Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills.
