2nd Shift Foreperson- Shipping & Receiving na Michigan Turkey Producers

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF RESPONSIBILITY:  

Responsible for working closely with shift manager to ensure daily work requirements are completed in a timely and efficient manner.  Spending 80% or more of the day on the warehouse floor.  Guiding and directing the leads and frontline associates on their daily tasks.  Maintaining a positive attitude while addressing shifting priorities.  Being a proponent of our FOCUS wheel to drive our culture forward. 

Position Responsibilities

• Coordinates and supervises all warehousing activities with the guidance of with the shift manager.
• Ensures employee and food safety policies are followed (GMP, HACCP, OSHA, SSOP, etc.).
• Trains and motivates team to the standard operating procedures set forth by leadership.
• Trains and motivates team to the performance standards set forth by leadership. 
• Identifying behavioral and performance issues with team members and initiating corrective conversations.
• Escalate team member issues as needed with shift manager and take part in corrective actions.
• Provides feedback on processes set forth in the standard operating procedures.
• Recording and communicating unsafe conditions or acts to logistics leadership in a timely manner.
• Takes an active role in developing systems and processes.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required.
• Willingness to be on call as needed.
• Willingness to work in a wide range of temperatures.
• Adheres to all managerial conduct and employee handbook standards in all dealings.

REQUIREMENTS:  

• Excellent communication skills.
• High school graduate, college degree preferred.  
• 1-2 years’ experience with powered industrial trucks and yard switcher trucks.
• 1-2 years’ experience in a high volume shipping and receiving environment.
• 1-2 years’ experience with Microsoft office systems, warehouse management systems.
• Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment.  
• Mathematical reasoning, problem solving, and executional skills.
• Ability to adapt to and drive change.
