National Account Manager - Remote - Ideally in the Midwest
BioSolutions Division, Carbohydrates Solutions
This is a full time, exempt level position. 

The successful candidate will be a dynamic and results driven sales professional with a proven track record in developing new business within the Consumer Care sector. The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, strategic thinking and a relentless drive for achieving sales targets. This position will be responsible for hunting new business in multiple subsegments including home care, personal care, and OTC pharma. Accounts once brought into the business will also be need to managed and nurtured. Consumer Care is one of the five key segments for the BioSolutions business, which is focused on bringing sustainable solutions to the industrial marketplace. The other four key segments in this business are Fermentation, Sustainable Paper & Packaging, Construction and Plant Health.  

Desired Characteristics
  • 7+ years of sales experience in Consumer Care
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, strong hunter mentality with strong desire to develop and own relationships
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing new business strategies, resulting in revenue growth
  • Familiar with the home care and/or personal care markets, processes and technical acumen in this space
  • Resourceful, self-starter with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as a team player in a growing, quickly-changing business environment
  • Proven service and customer focus with ability to build customer relationships across all levels of management, purchasing, marketing, R&D and plant personnel
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and report developments to cross functional teams
  • Willingness to learn, assist and manage all customer channels and products
  • Desire/motivation to help promote other ADM products to “key” relationships
Essential Responsibilities
  • Work closely with our customer facing organization to develop and implement differentiated value propositions for our customers
  • Develop new sales for the Consumer Care business in North America
  • Be recognized customer expert and key point of contact for ADM Carbohydrate Solutions portfolio that includes glycerin, PG, dextrose, fructose, glucose syrups, maltodextrin, corn starch, citric acid and derivatives
  • Recommends Specialty “value-added” solutions, including but not limited to new products, technologies, and processes to obtain new business in support of Consumer Care segment growth targets
  • Facilitate and drive discovery meetings with new prospects, understanding applications and customer needs
  • Continually draws insights on customer needs and seeks opportunities to translate these into actionable plans and new sales development
  • Develops and maintains a strong working knowledge of the markets and competitive landscape
  • Develop targeted customer lists in collaboration with Strategic Consumer Care National Account Manager and Sales Director
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date ‘fact-based’ customer development plans
  • Analyze marketing insights to unlock opportunities for future growth at prospects and accounts
  • Active use of Salesforce CRM
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships within ADM business units
  • Wholly responsible for contracting activities
  • Ultimately responsible for effective management of cost levers (knowing the cost to serve) and in assisting in the timely collection of account receivables
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Marketing, Business or related field and a minimum of 7 years sales and/or marketing experience in Consumer Care
  • New business development mindset and approach to prospecting in the marketplace
  • Robust consultative selling, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with specific competency in prospecting, account planning and goal setting
  • Proactive and result-oriented
  • Good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft software including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Strong Salesforce skills to drive sales opportunity pipeline and account plans
Travel
  • Overnight travel is required (35% minimum)

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

The pay range for this position is expected to be between:

$92,800.00 - $172,800.00

Salaried Incentive Plan

The total compensation package for this position will also include annual bonus and a long-term incentive plan
