The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, financial reporting, invoicing and assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes. This role plays a key part in ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in financial data and reporting.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely production and maintenance of the monthly invoicing cycle.
  • Execute accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash flow.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and general ledger adjustments.
  • Perform monthly account and bank reconciliations. • Utilize project reporting software (Deltek Ajera) for tasks including client, project, employee, and vendor setup.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and responses.
  • Monitor and reconcile intercompany accounts and transactions.
  • Help ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
  • Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies or variances.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Skills You Need to Bring With You

Our ideal candidate will bring the following skills & experience with them:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3-5 years experience working with a Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software for a professional service preferably based in architecture or engineering
  • Knowledge of GAAP
  • Strong core concept of basic accounting
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines
  • Motivated, self-directed, problem solver and ability to work in both individual and team settings
