The Program Coordinator II plays a key role in supporting the college’s technology and equipment management efforts. This position works closely with the associate dean for infrastructure, college IT, and property control to coordinate procurement, inventory tracking, equipment refresh programs, and policy compliance. The role also involves vendor coordination, documentation, and collaboration with university entities to ensure efficient and compliant technology operations.
Opportunities to Contribute
Manages the purchase of supported IT equipment and software, ensuring compliance with institutional standards.
Collaborates with vendors to secure quotes and savings, and assists faculty, staff, and researchers with acquiring necessary technology.
Coordinates workstation refreshment programs and assesses departmental inventory to identify aging equipment, working with IT professionals to maintain up-to-date technology.
Manage technology asset tracking, executes equipment relocation updates in Canopy, maintain records of software and hardware changes, and assists with surplus collection.
Research classroom technology trends and collaborates with IT Professionals to ensure modern, secure, and high-performing equipment.
Prepares and delivers equipment to IT professionals to support instructional and operational needs.
Prepare helpful documentation relating to area-specific nuances.
Research emerging technologies, best practices and common issues and communicate to colleagues.
Liaises with Texas A&M Division and System entities related to software and services.
Participate in training and professional development sessions when necessary, including attending College IT meetings and appropriate University forums.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Four years of related experience.
Occasionally required to lift and/or move heavy objects up to 30lbs.
Ability to move and/or navigate about buildings and throughout campus.
Ability to move and/or navigate in cramped spaces and to work in hot and dusty environments.
Ability to occasionally ascend and descend a ladder.
Occasionally required to work in outdoor weather conditions.
A well-qualified candidate for this position will also possess:
Working knowledge of FAMIS/Canopy, TAMU AggieBuy, HUB requirements, and vendor contracts.
Proficiency with computer hardware and software, operating systems and applications.
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Knowledge of governmental and higher education operations.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to interact professionally with all levels of customers and coworkers.
Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected candidate's education and experience.
