As Senior Developer at Sportable, you will be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge software solutions that transform sports data into immersive visual experiences. You will
play a key role in architecting real-time graphics systems, creating custom Unreal Engine
applications, integrating with connected systems and delivering innovative broadcast solutions
that enhance fan engagement.
As the engineering team grows, you will support and mentor junior engineers, guiding them in
their growth as independent developers and teaching best practices. Your role will be pivotal in
the initial stages of new client work, understanding their requirements and designing the best
solution integrated with Sportable systems.
Place of Work:
Hybrid working environment – flexible remote working from home or another location with 2-3
days required in the office each week.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related
field (or equivalent experience). - 3+ years of experience in software development, with expertise in Unreal Engine and real-time graphics.
- Proficiency in both C++ and Unreal Blueprint.
- Strong understanding of UI in Unreal (UMG).
- Experience working with networking and communication technologies such as REST,
- MQTT and WebSockets.
- Experience with performance diagnosis and optimisation in Unreal Engine.
- Understanding of packaging and deployment tools in Unreal Engine.

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to design innovative solutions for complex
challenges. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced
environment.
Bonus Skills/Experience:
- Capability with adjacent programming languages, such as Python and C#, Node.js.
- Experience working with external hardware through Unreal Engine, using technologies
such as Live Link. - Familiarity with sports tracking technologies, data visualisation and broadcast graphics.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Familiarity with Unreal’s Motion Design feature set.
Responsibilities:
- Implement real-time graphics and visualisation solutions using Unreal Engine.
- Build Unreal Engine applications that efficiently communicate with external data
providers, parse data, generate graphics and provide analysis. - Create clean user interfaces that communicate the interpreted data and allow ease of
use to operators. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, data scientists
and broadcast engineers, to create seamless digital sports experiences. - Develop and optimise pipelines for integrating sports tracking data into real-time
rendering systems. - Develop tools to control hardware such as cameras and input devices via Unreal.
- Ensure high performance, reliability and scalability of solutions for live sports
applications. - Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices in sports tech
and real-time graphics.
