The Transportation Liaison is responsible for coordinating student transportation services across designated CCIU campuses. The role ensures the safe, timely, and efficient arrival and dismissal of students and supports effective communication with district transportation personnel, bus drivers, parents, and school staff. The Liaison plays a key role in addressing student safety during transportation, maintaining accurate records, and supporting broader transportation operations in collaboration with the CCIU Transportation Manager and campus leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update student bus lists and distribute to staff across assigned campuses
- ?Create, update, and share arrival and dismissal schedules for CDC, SKL, and LC buildings.
- Communicate transportation changes and updates to district transportation personnel.
- Oversee daily arrival and dismissal procedures for all buses, including early dismissals and emergency closings.
- Promote a safe and supportive transportation environment by reinforcing behavioral expectations and assisting with proactive safety practices.
- Communicate with district partners, parents, and staff regarding bus-related issues, including student conduct reports; document and track follow-up actions.
- Coordinate and monitor the use of seat restraint systems for students as needed.
- Enter bus conduct data into SWIS, maintain accurate documentation, and assist in reviewing trends to support improved safety.
- Assist the Transportation Manager and Dean of Students in planning and facilitating meetings with transportation personnel before the school year and ESY.
- Develop and distribute a monthly transportation newsletter to bus drivers.
- Provide bus drivers and district supervisors with updated arrival and dismissal guidelines and schedules.
- Assist in contacting outlying districts during emergency early dismissals.
- Participate in required professional development to remain current on student safety practices, transportation regulations, and crisis management procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate's degree (or higher), or completion of post-secondary education (48 credit hours) preferred
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred
- Experience working with logistics and scheduling of buses or other mass transit vehicles preferred
Professional or Other Required Clearances - Current clearances (within one year): PA State Police, Child Abuse & FBI Fingerprints Required

210 day position, 7.5 hours per day, 5 days per week
