Duties:
Under the general supervision of the Director of the UH Hilo Kipuka Native Hawaiian Student Center, plan and coordinate the general UH Hilo peer mentorship program for first-year students.
- Hire, train, supervise and evaluate peer mentors to assist implementation of programs and activities.
- Oversee and assist in the planning and implementation of a range of activities and events by the Peer Mentors that will contribute to a meaningful student experience for first-year students to the campus.
- Work collaboratively with UH Hilo campus resources to provide support for first-year students participating in the mentorship program.
- Oversee and maintain data collection for student participants.
- Occasionally perform work during evening and weekend hours as required by program needs.
- Work in multiple work settings and maintain a variable work schedule as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Possession of a baccalaureate degree in any field from an accredited university.
- Demonstrated knowledge of UH Hilo programs and services.
- Previous experience working in higher education institution.
- Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.
- Any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills, and abilities as indicated.
