Description
Our client, in the greater Oshkosh area is looking for a versatile Human Resources Generalist to support all HR functions across the organization. This role serves as a resource for both leadership and employees, providing guidance, managing HR operations, and supporting initiatives in recruitment, training, compliance, and employee engagement. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and experienced in delivering HR solutions in a dynamic environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Human Resources Generalist will manage a wide range of HR activities, including administration, policy implementation, and compliance. This includes maintaining HR documentation such as employee handbooks, job descriptions, and performance evaluation tools, supporting leadership in developing and enforcing policies, and advising managers on employment law and workplace best practices.
Recruitment and retention are core components of this role. The HR Generalist will oversee full-cycle recruiting, from sourcing and interviewing to onboarding new hires, while collaborating with management on workforce planning and retention strategies. Additionally, this role supports benefits administration and employee engagement initiatives to help create a positive employee experience.
Training and development are another key focus. The HR Generalist will assess organizational training needs, coordinate programs to enhance employee skills, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance, including OSHA standards. Performance management support includes coordinating evaluations, providing guidance on employee relations, and assisting with disciplinary processes when necessary.
The role also encompasses risk management responsibilities, including managing workers’ compensation and unemployment claims, supporting workplace safety programs, and ensuring compliance with federal and state employment regulations. Throughout all activities, the HR Generalist will act as a trusted resource for both leadership and employees, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
TOOLS & TECHNOLOGY
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with HRIS or HR management systems
- Familiarity with recruiting software (e.g., Indeed, ZipRecruiter, LinkedIn Recruiter)
- QuickBooks or similar accounting software (preferred)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred
- Minimum of 4 years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or operational setting
- Strong knowledge of HR practices including recruiting, employee relations, benefits, and employment law
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in HR matters
