Generations at Regency in Niles, Illinois, has an Immediate Opening for a Full Time Head Cook.

Salary $52k, Plus Full Benefits! 

The Head Cook will Oversee Morning and Evening Cooks, and will collaborate with the Dietary Manager.

Responsibilities of the Head Cook:

• Prepare food in a timely manner in accordance with dietary requirements
• Follow standardized recipes in food preparation
• Inspect special dietary trays before service to ensure they are correct
• May serve food on the food tray line
• Supervise and/or assist in receiving and check in of deliveries of food and supplies
• Follow work/cleaning schedules
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe kitchen

Requirements

of the Head Cook:

• One to two years of cooking experience required
• Food Safety HandlerCertificate
• Ability to interpret Resident Diet Cards
• Experience cooking in a Skilled Nursing or Long-Term Care facility
• Capable of following written and oral instructions concerning specific methods of the preparation of foods and beverages
• Familiar with seasonings, understand cooking times and follow sanitation requirements
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Professional and personable demeanor
• Must be willing to undergo a complete background check to determine eligibility for hire by IDPH
