General Description 

The Development Manager is a vital member of the Advancement Team, responsible for cultivating and stewarding donors, supporting high-level volunteer leadership, and strengthening philanthropic partnerships. The role centers on providing exceptional staff support to the three long-standing PFS Auxiliaries, coordinating donor engagement events, and advancing relationships with major donors, corporate partners, and community supporters. The position reports to the Chief Advancement Officer (CAO).

Key Responsibilities


Auxiliary Support

  • Serve as primary staff liaison to the three PFS Auxiliaries, ensuring strong communication and collaboration. 
  • Coordinate support for Auxiliary fundraising events, service projects, and meetings. 
  • Provide guidance and resources to empower Auxiliary members in their fundraising and volunteer efforts. 

Donor Engagement & Stewardship

  • Partner with the CAO and Director of Donor Engagement, Major Gifts to implement year-round engagement strategies for individual and major donors. 
  • Support donor cultivation, solicitations, and stewardship activities, including personalized outreach and follow-up. 
  • Assist with donor research, impact reporting, and recognition initiatives to strengthen donor relationships. 

Events Management

  • Plan and execute donor cultivation and appreciation events, including the biennial Celebrating You, monthly tours, and special campaign-related events. 
  • Coordinate small-scale pipeline events designed to move annual donors toward major gift levels. 
  • Manage logistics, communications, and staff support to ensure seamless and meaningful donor experiences. 

Corporate & Community Partnerships

  • Oversee stewardship of the Corporate and Community Partner Program, ensuring recognition and fulfillment of partnership benefits. 
  • Collaborate with the CAO, Grants Manager, and Marketing & Communications to strengthen relationships and expand corporate and community giving. 

Volunteer Leadership & Pipeline Development

  • Support efforts to grow the NextGen Associate Board through creative recruitment and engagement opportunities. 
  • Promote and steward the Circles Program, ensuring recognition and benefits are consistently delivered. 
  • Help build the donor pipeline by identifying prospects and supporting engagement strategies.

Data & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate donor information in the database and ensure integrity of donor records. 
  • Prepare and distribute philanthropic impact reports for individuals, corporations, and community partners. 
  • Support tracking and reporting for campaigns, events, and stewardship activities. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and 3–5 years of nonprofit development or related experience. 
  • Strong skills in donor stewardship, event coordination, and volunteer engagement. 
  • Excellent writing, communication, and relationship-building abilities. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite; experience with fundraising databases preferred. 
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities with accuracy.
