Description

Conexon is a rapidly growing company working with Rural Electric Cooperatives to provide high speed internet and phone over advanced fiber to the home (FTTH) networks nationwide.

Conexon’s mission is to provide high speed internet and phone service to Rural America. Conexon is filled with people who have a genuine goal of providing excellent service, and we are looking for people who want to join us in our mission.

We are enhancing our Grants Compliance team, which plays a critical role in identifying requirements during the grant award process and ensuring they are consistently met throughout the life of each grant. This team develops tools, processes, and relationships that transform complex regulations into repeatable, operational actions. In this role, you will help drive compliance by monitoring projects for milestone completion, forecasting and tracking payment request triggers, and working closely with broadband offices and auditors to provide documentation and validate outcomes.

We are looking for someone who is genuinely excited about analyzing contracts, legislation, and regulations—and who can turn those interpretations into practical actions. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, and the flexibility to adapt quickly while maintaining accuracy. Self-motivation, creativity, and the ability to build collaborative relationships across government, industry, and internal teams will be key to thriving in this role.

While prior knowledge of broadband legislation, regulations, or compliance is helpful, it is not required. Similarly, experience in telecom, broadband deployment, or network management would be beneficial but not necessary. What matters most is your ability to learn quickly, think critically, and deliver results in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret broadband contracts, rules, and regulations, and translate requirements into actionable plans
  • Define day-to-day priorities to ensure milestones are met and payment requests are submitted on time
  • Supervise and mentor analysts and senior analysts in preparing payment requests and milestone documentation
  • Develop and maintain efficient systems for compliance document preparation and retention
  • Collaborate with broadband offices and co-ops on filing needs and compliance procedures, influencing adoption of best practices across teams
  • Hire, train, and lead a high-performing team, fostering professional growth and accountability
  • Analyze detailed reports and dashboards to monitor compliance status and performance metrics, identifying and resolving roadblocks
  • Lead the development, delivery, and monitoring of compliance training and communications
  • Resolve escalated issues and address complex compliance-related questions
  • Perform other duties as assigned to achieve departmental and organizational goals

Requirements

  • Proven ability to hire, train, coach, and counsel teams while fostering a positive and productive culture
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage across all levels of the organization
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain high accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and SharePoint
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and guide next steps
  • Ability to develop scalable processes for reporting and documentation
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage complex work independently
  • Skilled at cross-functional collaboration and advocacy
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships across public and private sectors in a collaborative manner
  • Resilient, adaptable, and solution-oriented

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five (5) or more years of people management experience
  • Experience with grant-funded programs, development projects, or broadband construction projects
  • Knowledge of broadband principles, practices, and regulatory requirements
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation and a commitment to staying current with changes in the field

Physical Requirements

  • Normal office conditions, some irregular hours may be required
  • Majority of time spent on the computer
