About the Department
This is the first of two levels in the Contract and Project Management series.
Incumbents monitor the activities of an on-going contract, coordinate activity with Parish employees, and provide information to the public. Responsibilities may include ensuring contractors fulfill contract obligations; coordinating efforts between a contractor and Parish employees; resolving issues and complaints from the public; and maintaining operational records, review construction plans, prepare construction drawings and inspect construction sites to determine compliance with specifications building codes and other regulations.
Position Duties

- Monitors contract compliance which includes ensuring contractors fulfill contract obligations and responding to inquiries regarding contract activities.
- Coordinates contract activities with Parish employees which includes determining contract needs, reviewing contracts for completeness, and/or performing related duties.
- Responds to a variety of complex public inquiries regarding contract activities.
- Performs a variety of administrative duties including preparing a variety of operational records, reading and responding to public service questionnaires, and/or performing related duties.
- Maintains and enters project data.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will have the general supervisory responsibility as that of Area Foreman and at times will serve as Area Foreman.
Directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Parish's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) and two years experience in area of assignment; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
LICENSING REQUIREMENTS
Valid Driver's License as per State law or requirement.

UNIFORM
An employee in this position will be supplied with a uniform, provided by the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury. The employee is responsible for abiding by the Police Jury's Uniform Agreement.
