As a Maintenance Worker I with our Sewer team, you will be performing a variety of tasks in the construction and maintenance of sewers, streets, parks, equipment, and City facilities including:
- Assisting in the maintenance and repair of sanitary and storm sewer lines/systems to prevent and resolve blockages, leaks, and environmental hazards
- Clearing obstructions and roots from sewer lines using high pressure jetting, root cutting, and chemical application
- Inspecting sewer system through the use of mobile video equipment
- Operating of heavy and light construction equipment as required
- Performing event setup and takedown
- Helping with snow removal and providing support to the other Public Works teams as needed
Qualifications and skills needed:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and physically enter/exit a confined space such as sanitary manholes or utility vaults
- Basic knowledge of procedures utilized in sewer maintenance and repair
- Strong work ethic, good attitude, and safety focused
- Ability to maintain regular and dependable attendance
This is a full-time position working Monday - Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm (Labor Day to Memorial Day) and from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm (Memorial Day to Labor Day).
