Position Title: Bartender
Accountability: Bartender reports to Director of Retail Operations
Job Classification: Seasonal (November – December), part-time, hourly, non-exempt
About: Daniel Stowe Conservancy (Stowe) inspires a love of nature and its beauty through unforgettable outdoor experiences. The nearly 400 acres of Stowe provides visitors with a chance to reconnect with nature in all seasons. The property welcomes guests to spectacular gardens, a conservatory dedicated to the display of tropical plants and orchids, sparkling fountains, 8 miles of trails, a dog park and 3 distinct retail locations.
The Bartender is an integral member of the retail team and is primarily responsible for providing excellent visitor experiences by serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The Bartender will deliver superb customer service and exceed the highest quality standards in day- to-day experience. An ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, the desire and
ability to serve our guests, and excellent customer service skills so to represent the organization in the highest form.
**This is a seasonal position from November through December. This position must be available to work weekday evenings and weekends.**
Responsibilities:
- Understands the importance of each guest to Stowe and drives excellence to ensure an optimal experience in every way.
- Provides a welcoming, friendly, and inclusive experience for all guests at all times.
- Creatively and effectively prepares alcohol and/or non-alcohol beverages for bar patrons.
- Provides excellent customer service, assessing requests and preferences, and serving drinks.
- Serves guests with other products and services, such as merchandise and special events.
- Provides quick and easy point-of-sale transactions for our guests and participants.
- Accurately reviews customers’ identification to confirm legal drinking age.
- Proactively restocks and replenishes bar inventory and supplies as needed.
- Actively complies with all food and beverage regulations.
- Conducts bar opening and closing procedures.
- Proudly maintains a professional work area, while always ensuring a professional presentation to the public.
- Develops and maintains broad knowledge of Stowe and able to answer various and broad reaching questions.
- Exemplifies Stowe's Mission Statement and supports staff, departments, and leadership in pursuing and achieving goals.
- Performs any other bartender related duties needed to help drive to our vision, fulfill our mission, and abide by our values.
Requirements
- Exhibits a passion for the mission of Daniel Stowe Conservancy.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Successfully pass a standard criminal background review.
- Must obtain and maintain the free NC ABC Safe Seller/Server Certificate before first shift executing the responsibilities of this position.
- Able to work nights, weekends, and some federal holidays.
- Must be willing to wear a uniform and work outside in the cold.

Experience & Education:
- Minimum of a high school diploma and 1 year experience as a bartender.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with a diverse audience.
- Ability to deal with problems and questions in a timely, courteous, and professional manner.
