This position will support the Prescott's, Inc. organization.

As the Vice President (VP) of Surgical Microscopes Operations, you will take on a crucial leadership role within the organization, overseeing all operational aspects of the surgical microscopes business unit. This role requires a visionary leader who can drive operational excellence, optimize product offerings, and enhance customer satisfaction while achieving strategic business objectives. This role requires a strategic leader with a strong background in operations, refurbishment services and/or manufacturing, and technical service management. 

The VP of Surgical Microscopes Operations will be responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of surgical microscopes, from procurement and inventory management to refurbishment and distribution. You will lead a dedicated team in ensuring operational efficiency and effectiveness in meeting the diverse needs of healthcare professionals.

In addition to overseeing day-to-day operations, you will collaborate with various stakeholders including service, sales, procurement, machine shop and their respective teams, to develop and implement strategies that enhance product offerings and streamline operational processes.

This position will be located onsite in Monument, CO.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and guide the surgical microscopes operations team, which encompasses service, sales, procurement, machine shop operations, and their respective teams, in order to attain operational excellence and foster business growth.
  • Develop and oversee an effective inventory management strategy to ensure optimal stock levels, minimize waste, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Oversee inventory management to ensure product availability and minimize excess stock.
  • Ensure efficient and high-quality services, repair, manufacture, and distribution of surgical microscopes.
  • Drive the successful adoption and utilization of the ERP system, ensuring operational processes are fully integrated and optimized within the business unit.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize workflows, reduce costs, and enhance service and sales quality across both operational and field sales and service functions.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (Sales, Finance, HR) to drive operational and commercial excellence.
  • Analyze operational performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices.
  • Establish and maintain high standards of quality assurance in all operational processes.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and employee development within the operations team.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across all functions and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards, including ISO certifications.
  • Engage with key customers to understand their needs and drive customer satisfaction through responsive operational support.
  • Report directly to the executive team on operational performance, strategic initiatives, and other key metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, operations management, supply chain or a related field; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience in operations management, manufacturing, or technical services management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Outstanding skills in leadership, communication, and change management.
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and driving operational excellence.
  • Strong understanding of medical devices, manufacturing processes, inventory management, procurement processes, and supply chain dynamics.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing operational strategies that align with business goals, along with a solid ability to optimize processes, boost operational efficiency, and lead initiatives aimed at reducing costs.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
  • Proven experience with ERP implementation, adoption, and optimization withing an operational environment. (preferably Netsuite)
  • Deep understanding of ERP functionalities related to inventory control, procurement, production planning, and data analytics.
  • Knowledge of quality control, regulatory compliance, and industry standards in medical devices or related fields.
  • Familiarity with ISO certifications and compliance measures relevant to medical devices.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Willingness to travel to support operations and engage with customers as necessary.

Salary Range: $150k to $250k depending on experience + Annual Bonus
