The Origination Intern will work closely with sales originators and merchandisers, providing the opportunity to learn how Producer Ag engages customers and markets grain. This internship offers immersive exposure to the fundamentals of origination, including bid development, transportation logistics, hedging strategies, and the significance of contracts, freight, and local delivery in forging strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist sales originators and merchandisers in day-to-day operations
· Develop and implement bids for grain purchases and sales
· Coordinate transportation logistics and understand freight management
· Learn the basics of hedging strategies in commodity markets
· Support customer relationship management through contracts and delivery coordination
· Spend time with crop insurance, agronomy operations, and shuttle loader teams to gain a broad understanding of their roles within the grain value chain
· Engage with various trading teams to deepen knowledge of the commodity marketplace
· Complete a summer-long project aimed at improving business efficiency
