Grade: 7
Summary: To develop and manage small business accounts which meet established lending requirements and which provide maximum profitability to the Bank with a minimum amount of risk.
Essential Job Functions:
Participates in the bank’s training program for Commercial and Agricultural lending. This will include:
- Attending various external training and schools.
- Working in various departments for extended periods of time, to become knowledgeable in commercial credit, financial analytical spreads and documentation.
- Shadowing other lenders.
- Learning how to develop new business.
- Interview loan applicants, collect and analyze financial and related data in order to determine the general credit worthiness of the prospect and the merits of the specific loan request.
- Learn how to negotiate the terms under which credit will be extended, including the costs, repayment method and schedule and collateral requirements.
- Collect and analyze information which reflects the current credit worthiness of customers and the current merits of existing loans.
- Monitors loan repayment activities and takes necessary action to collect from past due accounts.
- Develops material for Loan Committee and/or the Board of Directors where required.
- Participates in community affairs to increase the bank’s visibility and to enhance new business opportunities.
- Assists other members of the loan department and filling in when needed.
- Acts as a resource to other lenders.
- Other duties as assigned.
