Quality Assurance Analyst

We are continually onboarding and analyzing a massive amount of new food, nutrition, and consumer products onto our platform. This requires ongoing data creation, analysis, data accuracy, and maintaining rigorous food, nutrition, and product data standards. Think of it as a Consumer Reports for food and consumer products. To support these efforts, our data and research team is looking for a highly detail-oriented data analyst to join our team of data quality specialists. As a Quality Assurance Analyst, you will be working directly with our data, research and engineering teams to ensure accurate, high-quality delivery of data across our applications and to our partners.

Job Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Verify data accuracy and assist in our Quality Assurance processes 
  • Leverage existing in-house tools and data processes to analyze data at scale 
  • Work with our engineering and data teams to design new systems and processes to help organize data across our platform 
  • Research various standards and practices for our food, nutrition, and consumer products database 
  • Monitor and identify data issues and discrepancies as they emerge 
  • Help collaborate with and provide guidance to other members of our Quality Assurance team 
  • Audit data accuracy on an ongoing basis via a combination of automated and manual QA check processes 
  • Envision and implement systems to identify, flag, and fix data issues at scale 

Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor's Degree (Bachelors of Science in Nutrition, Food Science, Dietetics, Food Studies/Anthropology of Food, Data Analytics, or related fields preferable).  
  • 2+ years of relevant experience, preferably within a Data/Analytics, CPG/Food/Retail, or Nutrition-focused organization 
  • Familiarity in food, CPG, supplements, or personal care product labeling. Bonus points for regulatory knowledge around product labeling practices 
  • Experience in retail, consumer packaged goods, or natural/organic product industry is a plus 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment under pressure, adhere to deadlines, deliver high-quality results and manage competing demands 
  • Ability to multitask and be flexible in your work 

Physical Requirements 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer 

Salary Range: $60,000 – $68,000
