POSITION SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Manager oversees all installation, repair, and upkeep for company facilities and equipment in the assigned area. This role ensures teams have the resources they need, sets priorities, assigns work based on skill and urgency, and monitors activities for safety and quality. The manager plays a key part in inspections, training, and enforcing safety procedures to maintain operational excellence.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Develop, implement, and monitor maintenance procedures
- Ensure compliance with the company’s Maintenance Management System (MMS)
- Support the plant manager with safety program development, implementation, and enforcement
- Inspect facilities regularly to identify and resolve issues
- Plan, schedule, and oversee all maintenance activities
- Supervise and coordinate training for maintenance staff
- Administer disciplinary actions as needed
- Assist with interviewing and selecting candidates for the maintenance team
- Oversee equipment inventory and order supplies as needed
- Monitor expenses and control the maintenance budget
- Build and manage relationships with vendors and contractors
- Maintain detailed maintenance logs and records
- Report all incidents following company protocols
- Champion and support company safety initiatives
- Demonstrate knowledge and competency in all required areas
- Order necessary parts, tools, and supplies through the Coupa System
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Serve as a leader and role model within the team
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years in an industrial setting, preferably involving conveyors or grain elevators
- 5+ years of supervisory or management experience in a similar industrial or grain elevator environment
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
- Associate degree or higher in electrical or mechanical fields preferred
OR 5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in an industrial setting in place of a degree
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong knowledge of maintenance programs, equipment, machines, and tools, including design, use, repair, and maintenance
- Familiarity with electrical systems, mechanical components, welding, hydraulics, conveyors, skid steers, engines, and related equipment
- Leadership, organizational, and time management abilities
- Skill in developing and implementing operational policies, programs, and procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication for giving and receiving instructions
- Self-starter, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure with tight deadlines
- Understanding of bulk cargo and logistical operations
- Ability to interpret and apply operational directives, company policies, procedures, and regulations
- Effective collaboration as part of a management team
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Skill in managing, motivating, developing, and evaluating employees
- Teamwork approach when working with other managers and supervisors
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other company systems; strong Excel skills required
- Ability to apply specialized knowledge in assigned areas
- Strong reading, writing, math, and comprehension abilities for financial and operational reporting

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This role involves work in both office and industrial environments, including docks and midstream locations. Conditions include exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, fluids, noise, and all-weather conditions (heat, cold, rain). Work involves different elevations and may require protective equipment such as hearing protection, dust masks, or respirators. Job sites contain light to heavy equipment, materials, and tools. Work shift may require 12+ hours per day.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work may vary daily but includes climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, typing, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.

CERTIFICATIONS/ LISCENSES
- TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) Must attain and maintain a valid TWIC card.
- Equipment certifications (in-house)
- Water survival, Fall Protection, CPR/first-aid training (in-house)
- OSHA10 Certification (in-house)
- Must pass pre-employment drug testing and random drug screenings.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation
- Louisiana Weighmaster License (in-house)
