The primary responsibility of the Director, IT Infrastructure is to manage the SharePoint, Voice, Network and Windows Server support teams who maintain the performance, functionality and reliability of the Health Care District systems. This position ensures 24x7 hardware availability in support of mission critical business requirements. The Director, IT Infrastructure functions as production support for implementation projects. In addition, this position also works with the IT Management teams to establish strategies and priorities for the overall IT infrastructure teams by analyzing and understanding the current and future applications and operational support needs in order to formulate and recommend plans to keep pace with business demand. The Director, IT Infrastructure with work with the VP, CITO to develop and maintain a multi-year technology roadmap for the Health Care District.
This role works very closely with the other members and leaders within IT to coordinate and accomplish tasks and deliverables.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and maintain a multi-year technology roadmap
- Manage, lead and motivate the IT Infrastructure team
- Coordinate with application support and business intelligence teams to ensure application/database availability, performance and reliability
- Collaborate and cooperate with IT Security to ensure timely infrastructure vulnerability remediation
- Contribute to the ongoing development of IT production support processes
- Serve as project manager for infrastructure projects when needed
- Ensure regular communication to Senior IT Management concerning project's, risks, concerns, problems, and needs
- Keep abreast of new support tools, hardware, software, and technology and make recommendations for future deployment
- Develop standard operating procedures and policies for area of responsibility
- Support mission critical systems in a 24X7 environment
- Plan and implement operating system, server, application and associated support tools as needed to remain compliant with current versioning and security
- Analyze and manage hardware, application/database performance, capacity, replication, and other distributed data issues
- Participates in disaster recovery testing and the updating/maintenance of disaster recovery scripts and documentation
- Develops and maintains critical application availability measurements to ensure that SLA's are met and exceeded
- Perform on-call duties when required
- Emergency duty may be required of the incumbent that includes working in special needs or Red Cross shelters or to perform other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to threats or disasters, man-made or natural
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, and Applied Sciences or in a related field required
Experience:
- 7+ years of previous Management of Server and Network teams required.
- Two (2) of which served in a managerial capacity with field experience encompassing (Cisco), VoIP, VMware, Citrix and systems/server administration in an Active Directory environment, LANs, WANs, and a broad knowledge of current operating systems and software. Knowledge of disaster recovery procedures, the ability to work with a diverse technical team, and a working knowledge of Cisco Unified Communication Manager configuration and infrastructure required
- Current or prior hands-on experience installing/supporting Windows servers
- Current or prior hands-on experience supporting database technologies and legacy applications; experience in SQL a plus
- Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Company, in its discretion may find appropriate and acceptable
Certification:
- Current Cisco CCNA and/or CCDA certification preferred.
- Cisco CCNA, and Microsoft Certified Software Engineer (MCSE) required or obtained within one year of employment
Licensure:
Valid Florida Driver's License required.
