GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Coordinator is to assist students with personal and/or drug/alcohol related problems that are affecting school performance. Student Assistance Coordinator also promotes the general development of students’ self-esteem, interpersonal relationships, problem solving and coping skills. Provides outside resources to students and families for the purpose of health and well-being.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Student Assistance Coordinator Endorsement (Code:3461)
- Minimum of (3) years of post secondary education or demonstrated experience in public administration, education, social sciences, or related field.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
- Strong management and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with education, health and human services.
- Pass a Criminal History Background Check and Employee Physical Exam prior to start
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: A position under this job title may include, but is not limited to, the following job duties: - Maintain harmonious and effective working relationships with the principal and all other school personnel.
- Assisting with the in-service training of school staff concerning substance abuse and related issues and with the district program to combat substance abuse.
- Serving as an information resource for substance abuse prevention, curriculum development and instruction.
- Assisting the district in revising and implementing substance abuse and related policies and procedures.
- Developing and administering substance abuse and related intervention services in the district.
- Providing counseling and referral services to the students regarding substance abuse and related problems.
- Cooperating with community service providers or other officials in the rendering of substance abuse and related treatment services.
- All other related duties as assigned.
Starting Salary Range: $61,025. - $85,515. (Salary commensurate based on exp.)
